Making A Hair Routine

Hi ladies! Today I am going to explain how to make a hair care routine and why it's important. So, lets jump right in !!

What You Need
  • Staple Products
       - Shampoo
       - Conditioner
       - Moisturizers
       - Hold Products
       - Serums/Oils
       -Tools
  • PATIENCE
The shampoo/conditioner I have been currently using is Suave 2-in-1 For All Hair Types. Since I have started this "journey" , I've been doing a bit of research and it turns out sulfate is NOT good for your hair. Guess what ? My shampoo/conditioner has it. So I am currently in the process of hunting for a new one.
As far as moisturizers, I use Organic Root Simulator Olive Oil Hair Moisturizer. I have used this for so LONG. This product has worked wonders with my hair. Its makes it look and feel soft, healthy , and shiny (NOT GREASY) . Which brings me to this. You want to make sure your moisturizer doesn't make your hair heavy and greasy.
Now, hold products should not be an everyday product. Most of them make the hair hard and greasy looking. Which results in having to wash your hair EVERY time you use them. I use Black Queen Olive Oil Mad Hold Spritz. This is an amazing product, it's alcohol free and smells AMAZING ! Make sure you get something that doesn't flake !
Moving on to one of my favorite things, oils and serums !!! I use Black Queen Olive Oil Sheen Spray. This is something I use about 2-3 times a week. Keep in mind, DO NOT apply oil to your roots. Put it on your bottom of your hair because it is the oldest and driest. I often mix mayo (any brand works but I use Blue Plate), an egg or two (protein), and olive oil (once again any oil but i prefer pure olive oil or spanish oil) and just apply it to my hair. My mom has been doing this to my hair for a while so I just continued it. The mixture strengthens your hair as well as cleans it.
The last key parts to a hair routine are hair tools ! A wide tooth comb is a must. The wider the comb the less hair gets pulled out. I also recommend a paddle brush instead of a regular brush. A paddle brush can be used to detangle the hair as well as straighten it when blow drying. When you are sleeping you need to protect your hair too. I recommend using a satin head scarf or head cap. Hair pins are a necessity ! I use them when doing pin curls and to just keep my hair up. Now moving on to heat tools. When using heat ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use heat protectant. A blow dryer should only be used when you're in a rush. It is much better to just air dry. If your hair poofs up (like mine) when you air dry, just tie a satin scarf at the front of your head (after you detangle it with your wide tooth comb) and let it dry. The straightener I use is the Panasonic Ceramic Straightener. I has interchangeable clasps so you can make it either straight or wavy.

Now, after you have every thing you need , you make a routine and get in the habit of doing everything as often as you need to.
Good Luck
